Spotlight Sports Magazine was founded to bring recognition and awareness to high school student athletes and programs in the San Diego community. With its unique feature driven format, content, and style, the magazine became an immediate hit.

Each colorful issue of Spotlight Sports Magazine is loaded with fascinating human interest profiles of high school student athletes. We take you inside for a glimpse into these amazing students, and report on their exciting futures as many go on to perform at a higher level.  Spotlight Sports captures these memories so that the athletes, and their family and friends, can look back fondly on their high school careers.

What’s more, the magazine is filled with informative and timely articles written by experts in their field. Whether it’s preparing for college, recovering from an injury, or improving performance, Spotlight Sports is designed to give one the insight to better prepare for the next level.

It gets better. We bring you exclusive professional and college athlete interviews. Past issues have featured NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White, the NBA’s Chase Budinger, and Utah QB and Oceanside High alum Jordan Wynn.

We have discovered that the magazine is enjoyed across a broad spectrum. Elementary and junior high school age kids along with their parents read the magazine as they aspire to a higher level. The magazine delivers the inspiration for these budding athletes.

Spotlight Sports believes strongly in the importance of sports in a youth’s life. It offers the opportunity to build character, integrity, improve classroom performance, and provides the tools to be successful in life. Aligning with this belief, our aim is to focus solely on the positive side of sports, to present inspirational stories, and to highlight the good happening in our high school athletic communities.

The overwhelmingly positive response led to a quick expansion. What started as a North County coastal magazine covering 10 schools, soon reached 22, and now stretches across the North County to parts of San Diego.
